How much is it to hire Wood Lane for a wedding?
The current 2016/17 price is £2,500 for a wedding reception, plus an additional £100 to hold a ceremony.
Does the price include registrar’s fees?
No. The registry office charges a fee for registrars to perform a ceremony at any licensed venue.
When can I view the venue?
Due to various classes and groups using the Centre, viewings take place between 12:30pm and 3:15pm on Friday afternoons. Occasionally, a midweek viewing can be arranged for 3:30pm if the centre is not in use. Please contact the centre for an appointment.
What time does the bar open?
The bar can open as early as 12 noon, but not before the ceremony. If you would like the bar to open at a specific time, please let the centre know within 2 weeks of your booking.
Can the bar be set up in a different room?
The main bar situated in the Grain Loft cannot be moved.
Can I supply my own alcohol?
As Wood Lane Countryside Centre is a licensed venue, it is our responsibility to control the sale and consumption of alcohol on the premises. You are free to provide your guests with 1 bottle of table wine per 2 people during your meal. Anything else must be purchased at the Wood Lane bar.
Can I have a marquee?
The grounds are more than large enough to accommodate a marquee for 100 people. There is no additional cost to erect a marquee in the grounds and you are free to choose whichever marquee company you wish.
Can I have my ceremony outside?
As there is no standing structure, an official ceremony cannot take place outside. However, humanist ceremonies and blessings are permitted.
Is music allowed outside?
As part of our premises license, we cannot permit amplified music anywhere outside. This includes in teepees or marquees. However, unamplified music, such as acoustic or brass bands and string quartets are permissible. Amplified music is allowed anywhere inside up until 11:30pm.
Can I supply my own caterers?
To help make your big day as special as possible, Wood Lane Countryside Centre allows you the flexibility to customise every last detail of your wedding, from décor to catering. As part of the wedding package, access to a fully equipped catering kitchen is included for use by yourselves or your chosen caterers.
Are lawn games and bouncy castles allowed?
You can provide lawn games such as giant connect four, croquette, giant Jenga, Twister etc. But archery, bouncy castles, trampolines etc. are not permitted for health and safety reasons.
Will there be any staff around on the day?
There will be a wedding coordinator here on the day to ensure everything runs as smoothly as possible. The bar is fully staffed and a premises manager will be on site until midnight, who will lock up the building. There will be no members of staff around on the Sunday, or after 5pm on the Friday before.
Are the fairy lights on the beams included?
How do I confirm my booking?
If you are interested in a particular date, we will provisionally hold that date for 7 days. Once you return the booking form and £400 deposit, this will confirm your booking and serve as your contract with us.
When do I have to make full and final payment?
The invoice will be sent 6 weeks prior to the wedding date, which must be paid no later than 2 weeks prior to the wedding date.
Do I get my deposit back if I cancel my booking?
If you cancel within 12 weeks or more of the wedding date, you will lose the £400 deposit. If you cancel less than 12 weeks before the date, you will be required to pay the full amount.
